Employee Training to Promote Public Procurement of Social Economy Enterprise Products for Building Consensus to Expand Socially Responsible Procurement in Public Institutions
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) conducted employee training on the 18th at the Jaunbong Hall of the district office to promote public procurement of social economy enterprise products.
This training was held to enhance understanding of the priority purchase system for social economy enterprise products and the necessity of public procurement, while providing an opportunity for social economy enterprises to strengthen their self-sustainability and expand their sales channels.
The lecture was delivered by Kim Dae-seok, head of the Corporate Strategy Team at the Seoul Social Economy Support Center, covering ▲Understanding social economy enterprises (social enterprises, village enterprises, cooperatives) ▲The necessity of public procurement of social economy enterprise products ▲Methods of public procurement and recommended purchasable items.
Dobong-gu supports healthy market activities of social economy enterprises through the Ordinance on Promotion of Purchase and Sales Support of Social Economy Enterprise Products in Dobong-gu, Seoul, and this year has set a public procurement target of over 4.02 billion KRW, taking the lead in public procurement.
Mayor Lee Dong-jin stated, “Priority purchasing is an essential system to realize social economy values such as expanding socially responsible procurement by public institutions and employment of vulnerable groups,” adding, “I hope this training will increase the overall understanding of social economy among related employees and thereby activate public procurement more actively.”
