Songpa-gu Hosts 'A Moment of Time Captured (Dream)' Event in Celebration of Couples' Day

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) will open the 'Munhwa Nuri-teo' hosted by Songpa Women's Culture Center on May 22 to hold a reminder wedding for two couples in the area.

In celebration of Couples' Day, the district, under the supervision of Songpa Women's Culture Center, has prepared the event 'Capturing a Moment of Time Dream' to support everything from wedding hall rental, studio, dress, and makeup (S·Deu·Me), photography, to hotel accommodation vouchers, enabling couples to hold reminder weddings.

First, the district received advance applications from residents wishing to have a reminder wedding and selected two final teams: one husband who applied with a story of having no wedding photos due to several typhoons 15 years ago while living in another region, and who wanted to take family photos every wedding anniversary but time passed and now is the 20th anniversary and a father of three children; and a daughter who applied on behalf of her parents who started their life during the IMF crisis in a small one-room apartment in Jamsil, Songpa, and despite difficult circumstances, worked hard for the family and raised two daughters who are now married.

For 'Capturing a Moment of Time Dream,' Songpa Women's Culture Center prepared ▲ S·Deu·Me (studio, dress, makeup) support with the help of local community activists, ▲ photography on the day, ▲ caricature frames and family motto frames for the couples, and ▲ Lotte World Hotel accommodation vouchers (sponsored by Lotte Hotel) to make the reminder wedding memories even more special.

Additionally, the event will feature ▲ a string quartet performance by the Songpa Women's Culture Center volunteer group and ▲ a video capturing the couples' years, produced directly by the Women's Culture Center, to enrich the reminder wedding experience.

'Capturing a Moment of Time Dream' will hold reminder weddings for two couples at Munhwa Nuri-teo in Songpa Women's Culture Center on May 22 at 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM.

The district has opened the 13-pyeong (approximately 43 square meters) Munhwa Nuri-teo within Songpa Women's Culture Center free of charge so that all residents can enjoy culture together. It operates as a rental space for 'small gatherings (small weddings, small meetings, etc.)' and a 'unique photo studio (family photo shoots)'.

In particular, the 'unique photo studio' has seen high demand for multicultural family photo shoots, conducting about 10 sessions over five months. Furthermore, the rental of the 'small gathering space,' which can provide continuous support for wedding halls, dresses, and wedding props, is expected to become more active.

Applications for using Munhwa Nuri-teo are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Reservations can be made through the Songpa Women's Culture Center website or directly at the center.

Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, "I hope this event will be an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of couples and create memories and gentle smiles in the lives of our residents." He added, "We will continue to strive to develop various cultural policies that touch the hearts of each resident so that Songpa-gu can deeply resonate with everyone."
