GS25 Joins 'Hope Meal Voucher' Project... Prepares Over 370 Food Items

GS25 has completed the system setup for the 'Hope Meal Voucher' support project at all stores located in Seoul.

The Hope Meal Voucher support project, conducted by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, was prepared to prevent meal deprivation among elementary, middle, and high school students in Seoul who are attending remote classes due to COVID-19. Each supported student receives Zero Pay mobile points worth 100,000 KRW, and students can freely purchase designated food products at convenience stores as a substitute for school meals using the provided points. The number of supported students reaches approximately 560,000.

GS25 has prepared about 370 food products across more than 10 categories, including lunch boxes, gimbap, seasonal fruits, white milk, vegetable sandwiches, and salads. Lunch boxes, expected to have the highest demand, were selected as the main food item, and the product lineup was finalized with 11 types of lunch boxes, the largest number in the industry, based on detailed nutritional standards and data analyzing preferred menus among teenagers.

Students purchasing GS25’s lunch boxes and other 370 food products with the Hope Meal Voucher can enjoy an automatic 10% discount, and when combined with telecom company discounts, they can receive up to a 20% discount.

A GS Retail official stated, "We plan to focus on this Hope Meal Voucher support project with the core value of providing quality food to students who are in blind spots of meal deprivation due to the impact of COVID-19," adding, "GS25, which has the largest number of stores in Seoul, will take the lead in serving as a meal provider for Seoul students."
