Local Talent Development Program Supporting Youth Interested in Solving Regional Issues

LG Chem Yeosu Plant Recruiting Participants for LG Local Value Up 4th Cohort

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shim Kyung-taek] LG Chem Yeosu Plant is conducting the Local Value-Up program to foster local community innovators, starting with recruiting participants for the 4th term and continuing until December.

The Local Value-Up program is a regional innovator growth support project that nurtures local innovators and supports social economy startups by solving problems with creative ideas in various fields such as education, welfare, culture, environment, tourism, and jobs within the community.

Any Yeosu citizen with ideas about solving community problems or directions to move forward can participate in this program. Selected teams are provided with professional education and mentoring opportunities.

Additionally, market research costs are separately supported for each team, and a total prize of 9 million KRW is awarded to outstanding teams selected at the performance sharing event after completing the education. Various linked projects such as startup support after completion and overseas training through selection as LG Social Fellows are also planned.

This year’s program will select 10 teams through a recruitment and selection process lasting about four weeks until June 4. The selected teams will receive professional education and mentoring to combine their dreamed social innovation plans with business models or enter social enterprises, and share their achievements with local innovators.
