Gwangju Nam-gu Operates Vaccine Reservation Call Center for Ages 60-74

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) is operating a pre-reservation call center to establish a dense herd immunity system within the local community and provide convenience to vaccine recipients ahead of COVID-19 vaccinations for seniors aged 60 to 74, as well as kindergarten and daycare teachers, elementary school teachers, and care personnel.

Nam-gu announced that it will operate the Nam-gu COVID-19 Vaccination Call Center for seniors aged 60 to 74 from the 18th until the 3rd of next month, while simultaneously accepting visit reservation applications at 16 administrative welfare centers in the district.

This is to assist local seniors who experience difficulties using the online COVID-19 vaccination pre-reservation website system.

Nam-gu has prepared seven dedicated lines for the COVID-19 vaccination call center to accept pre-phone reservations from seniors who have difficulty with online reservations or have mobility issues that make visiting the administrative welfare centers challenging.

Pre-reservations can also be made through proxies such as children or other representatives.

COVID-19 vaccine administration varies by age. Seniors aged 65 to 74 who make pre-reservations will receive vaccinations from the 27th until the 19th of next month, while those aged 60 to 64 will be vaccinated between the 7th and 19th of next month.

Additionally, patients with chronic severe respiratory diseases will begin vaccinations from the 27th, and vaccinations for kindergarten, daycare, and elementary school grades 1-2 teachers, as well as care personnel, will proceed sequentially starting from the 7th of next month.

A Nam-gu official stated, “We will do our best to ensure that residents can quickly escape the threat of COVID-19 and remove their uncomfortable masks as soon as possible through vaccination,” adding, “We ask everyone to participate in vaccination without exception to establish a solid herd immunity system.”
