Moon Jinseop, Seoul Milk Cooperative President, Receives Presidential Citation on 'Food Safety Day'

Moon Jin-seop, chairman of the Seoul Milk Cooperative, is taking a commemorative photo after receiving the Presidential Citation at the 20th Food Safety Day ceremony.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Moon Jin-seop, chairman of the Seoul Milk Cooperative, received the Presidential Citation at the ceremony commemorating the 20th Food Safety Day.

Celebrated for the 20th year this year, Food Safety Day was established and has been observed annually on May 14th since 2002 by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety to raise awareness of food safety and foster national consensus.

The Seoul Milk Cooperative was recognized for its contributions including ▲ securing the safety of milk and dairy products through strengthening raw milk safety management systems ▲ HACCP and FSSC22000 certification of all factories ▲ improving quality and spreading safety awareness among partner companies through hygiene inspections and consulting ▲ implementing guidance projects to build a sustainable dairy industry foundation ▲ and enhancing the hygiene grade and quality level of raw milk, which led to receiving the Presidential Citation.

Chairman Moon Jin-seop has managed a dairy cattle farm for about 40 years and has played a role as a representative of local dairy farmers in expanding and developing a stable dairy industry base in Korea by reforming farmers' awareness, integrating advanced dairy technologies, and making policy proposals to the government.

Additionally, to improve raw milk quality, he promoted the separated milking of two premium first-grade milk products, "Na100%", which are the first in Korea to use only raw milk with bacterial count 1A grade and somatic cell count grade 1, contributing to supplying the best and most hygienic raw milk to consumers.
