Chungnam, Agricultural Support Voucher 'Applications Accepted Until August'

[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province will accept applications for the farming support voucher until August.

The province announced on the 18th that the application deadline for the 'COVID-19 Overcome Farming Support Voucher Project' has been extended until August 13.

The support targets five sectors where sales have decreased due to COVID-19: floriculture, winter watermelons, eco-friendly agricultural products supplied to school meals, horse breeding farms (Gyeongju horses), and rural experience and recreation villages.

Farmers and villages engaged in each sector can receive vouchers worth 1 million KRW upon submitting supporting documents such as shipment performance certificates and bank transaction statements.

Along with the extension of the application deadline, the province will also relax some support requirements, such as allowing not only the business owner but also other farmers to apply for eco-friendly agricultural products supplied to school meals, provided they have eco-friendly certification and actually supply the products.

Farmers wishing to apply can submit their applications through the farming support voucher website or the local eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare centers.

However, it is not allowed to receive overlapping benefits from the farming support voucher and other programs such as the 'Emergency Employment Stability Subsidy (Ministry of Employment and Labor)', 'Small Business Owner Support Fund Plus (Ministry of SMEs and Startups)', 'Temporary Management Support Voucher for Small-scale Fisheries (Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries)', and 'Temporary Management Support Voucher for Small-scale Forestry Households (Korea Forest Service)'.

Previously, the province completed the first round of farming support voucher applications by the 14th, and vouchers will be distributed to eligible recipients starting from the 1st of next month.

For the second round of applicants from the 15th of this month to August 13, vouchers will be provided starting September 1.
