Preliminary Negotiation Partner and Business Agreement on the 20th
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Chuncheon City, Gangwon Province, is set to accelerate a 300 billion KRW-scale project to develop tourist and recreational facilities and a marina at Uiamho Lake.
The city announced on the 18th that "on the 20th, we will sign a business agreement with the preferred negotiation partner for the Uiamho Lake tourist and recreational facilities & marina development project."
Earlier, in January this year, the city selected the preferred negotiation partner for the Uiamho Lake tourist and recreational facilities & marina development project through a private business operator selection committee.
The project aims for completion in 2024 and involves installing and operating marina and tourist recreational facilities around 426 Samcheon-dong. The entire project cost is privately funded.
The city expects a synergistic effect on the local tourism industry by combining the soon-to-be-completed Samaksan Ropeway, Legoland Korea, and existing tourism infrastructure.
A city official stated, "We will promptly proceed with additional negotiations with the preferred negotiation partner to ensure the project progresses smoothly."
