[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business Associations planned a general meeting to elect a successor to Chairman Bae Dong-wook, but the court once again issued a ruling prohibiting it.
According to the legal community on the 17th, the Seoul Central District Court Civil Division 50 (Chief Judge Song Kyung-geun) accepted Chairman Bae's injunction request to prohibit the holding of the federation's general meeting. Accordingly, the general meeting of the federation scheduled for the 20th will not be held, and plans to elect the next chairman have also been canceled.
Previously, the federation had planned to hold a general meeting on the 8th of last month, but at that time, the court also accepted Chairman Bae's injunction request.
Meanwhile, Chairman Bae faced criticism last June during the 'National Regional Organizations and Industry Groups Education and Policy Workshop' held in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province, for combining drinking with an event inviting a girl group. Additionally, amid allegations of improper use of subsidies, he was dismissed at an extraordinary general meeting in September last year.
