[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] A COVID-19 case has been confirmed among employees of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, leading to the partial closure of connecting corridors within the government building.
According to the Ministry on the 17th, an employee working on the 3rd floor of Building 4 at the Government Sejong Complex tested positive for COVID-19.
The employee worked from home on the 13th and 14th, and on the day of confirmation, after arriving at work, was notified of a family member's positive test and immediately left the office to get tested for COVID-19.
A Ministry official stated, "The employee spent only 20 minutes in the office from Thursday until today," and added, "All employees in the relevant department will switch to remote work."
The Ministry of Economy and Finance is conducting disinfection measures throughout the entire office and has decided to close major facilities including the 3rd floor.
Meanwhile, additional testing for close contacts will be conducted based on the results of future epidemiological investigations.
