[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The Gangdong Police Station in Seoul presented a crime report reward and a commendation to a citizen who reported a hit-and-run motorcycle accident, contributing to the prevention of a secondary accident.


According to Gangdong Police Station on the 17th, at around 5:36 a.m. on the 8th of last month in Gil-dong, Gangdong-gu, a motorcycle driven by a man in his 20s, A, collided with a man in his 70s, B, who was jaywalking. As a result of the accident, B lost consciousness and fell onto the road, but A fled the scene without providing aid.


Park Tae-kyung, sensing the risk of a secondary accident, protected B on the road and reported the incident to 112. B regained consciousness shortly after and was transported to the hospital, where he is receiving treatment for rib fractures and is currently recovering.


Kang Sang-gil, chief of Gangdong Police Station, said, "Thanks to the warm neighborly spirit and civic awareness, a fatal accident was prevented and the perpetrator was swiftly apprehended."
