"1004, 7942" SKT's First 'Gold Number' Lottery Event of the Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] SK Telecom announced on the 17th that it will hold the first 'Gold Number' lottery event of the year. This time, there are 9 types of 'Gold Numbers' being drawn, totaling 5,000 numbers.

Gold Numbers refer to phone numbers whose last 4 digits have specific patterns such as 1000, 2222, 0033, or numbers where the exchange code and the last four digits are the same (e.g., 1234-1234), or numbers composed of digits with particular meanings like 1004 or 7942. They are popular among customers due to their easy memorability and high symbolic value. In the Gold Number lottery event held in the second half of last year, the average competition rate was 13 to 1, with the highest competition rate reaching 2549 to 1.

Customers who want a Gold Number can apply from the 17th to the 28th at SKT official certified agencies and the T Direct Shop (shop.tworld.co.kr). Customers using other carriers can also apply for up to 3 numbers per person.

The winning results are scheduled to be announced on June 9. They can be checked at SK Telecom official certified agencies and the T Direct Shop. Winning customers can confirm their winning status via text message and change their number at official certified agencies and the T Direct Shop between June 10 and June 25. Customers who are already using a Gold Number or have acquired one within the past year are not eligible to apply.
