[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has opened the second branch of the Our Neighborhood Care Center to safely protect elementary school students in need of care after school and provide gap care services.

Our Neighborhood Care Center Jungnang Branch 2 (Shinnae-ro 25ga-gil 2, Room 303) is located in Muk 1-dong and is within a 5-minute walk from nearby elementary schools, allowing elementary students to use the facility safely and conveniently after school.

The center has a total floor area of 87.36㎡ and is equipped with an activity room, administrative office, attic space, and kitchen. Birch wood was used for the health and safety of the children, and safety protection cushions were installed. One center director and two care teachers are stationed on-site. The capacity is 26 children for regular care and 5 children for temporary care.

In particular, the center plans to flexibly connect and support various programs according to care demand, including regular and temporary care, meal and snack provision, homework and reading guidance, safety education, and special activities, which has already attracted many inquiries from nearby parents.

The operating hours are from 1 PM to 7 PM during the school term and from 9 AM to 7 PM during vacation periods. Any elementary school student aged 6 to 12 who needs care can use the service through prior application.

Those wishing to use the care service can apply online through the Our Neighborhood Care Portal. For more details, inquiries can be made to Jungnang Branch 1 (Shinnae-yeok-ro 1-gil 145, Room 101) or Jungnang Branch 2.

Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “Working parents can reduce childcare worries, and children can grow up healthily through creative programs such as self-directed learning at the care center after school. I hope that the childcare issues of working families, which increase every year, can be resolved through Our Neighborhood Care Center.”

The district opened and has been operating the first Our Neighborhood Care Center in Shinnae 1-dong since February last year. Plans are underway to add the third and fourth branches, and the center will continue to expand according to care demand.
