Kim Eun-hye: "The Yeongnam Party Frame Is Self-Harming Politics... We Must Prevent the Return of the Korean Party"

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Kim Eun-hye, a member of the People Power Party running for party leader, said, "Yeongnam is not at fault. The problem is the 'Road Korea Party'."

On the 16th, Kim stated on Facebook, "Among several controversial topics, I want to correct one thing," adding, "What our party must be most cautious about is regressing back to the 'Road Korea Party' by going back in time," emphasizing, "We must thoroughly prevent this at all costs."

She further argued, "The Yeongnam Party frame that 'if you are from Yeongnam, you are absolutely not acceptable' must be stopped as it is a completely harmful self-destructive politics," calling it "a fatal mistake that degrades us into a regional party."

She stressed that vision and ability should be evaluated instead of the region of origin. Kim said, "What is needed for the party leader is solely the vision and ability to overcome this crisis and open the future," adding, "Just like the number of times elected as a member of the National Assembly or age, the region of origin is a completely secondary matter that cannot be an issue."

She also declared, "Kim Eun-hye will thoroughly reject the 'Capital Region vs. Yeongnam' framework."
