Applications Open from the 17th via Cheokcheok Solution Service App
250 Selected... Expecting Safer Road Environment Creation
[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 16th that it will recruit and operate the ‘Road Safety National Participation Group’ in collaboration with related organizations such as the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology, the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, and the General Insurance Association of Korea.
The ‘Road Safety National Participation Group’ appoints representatives from the general public to observe and report various hazards occurring on roads, such as pavement grooves and defective road facilities, and to propose policies related to overall road safety.
Any South Korean citizen interested in road safety can apply, and applications will be accepted for 15 days from the 17th to the 31st, with a total of 250 people to be selected by region.
Applicants can apply using the ‘Cheokcheok Solution Service App’ or download the application form from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport website (www.molit.go.kr) and submit it via email (road2021@kict.re.kr). The final selection results can be checked on the Ministry’s website on the 14th of next month. Only successful applicants will be notified individually.
The activity period for the selected participants is one year (from July this year to June next year), and a fixed activity allowance will be paid quarterly based on individual performance. Outstanding participants during the activity period will receive commendations from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and heads of related organizations, along with rewards totaling approximately 7 million KRW.
Juhyun Jong, Director of the Road Bureau at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, “We ask for the interest and participation of many people so that a safe road environment can be created through the active activities of the Road Safety National Participation Group.”
