Seocho-gu Lifelong Learning Center Operates Summer Semester Non-Face-to-Face Programs... Providing High-Quality Remote Lifelong Education Through Expert Lectures in 3 Fields and 6 Courses Including Culture and Arts, Humanities, and Foreign Languages
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Eunhee Jo) will officially launch the 2021 ‘Seocho-gu Lifelong Learning Center Summer Semester Non-face-to-face Program Pilot Project’ from June 3rd to promote continuous lifelong learning for its residents.
Due to the continued closure of the Lifelong Learning Center caused by COVID-19, the district plans to provide high-quality non-face-to-face lifelong education through expert lectures in various fields such as culture and arts, humanities, and foreign languages.
This year, six courses in three fields have been selected and will be implemented.
The main program contents include six topics: ▲ Art, Adding an Engine? Mobility and Art ▲ Strolling through Paintings and Music ▲ A Historical Walk through Media ▲ Reading Joseon Palaces through Annals and Signboards ▲ Screen English (Basic) ▲ Learn and Travel (Spanish - Beginner).
In particular, the ‘Art, Adding an Engine’ program, which traces the concept and history of mobility through works by representative artists of the era such as Claude Monet and Marcel Duchamp, and contemplates contemporary visions, is prepared as a distinctive lifelong education program that provides high-quality information to residents based on Seocho’s strengths as a cultural and artistic city.
Anyone residing in Seocho-gu can apply for the program, and registration is currently open on the Seocho-gu Office website.
The summer semester program will run from June 3rd to July 28th, and for detailed schedules and other information, inquiries can be made to the Seocho-gu Lifelong Learning Center.
During the implementation of this non-face-to-face pilot project, satisfaction surveys and questionnaires will be conducted with participants, and plans are in place to discover and operate various lifelong learning center programs in the future.
Additionally, in preparation for the easing of the COVID-19 situation, blended learning combining face-to-face and non-face-to-face courses will be promoted, and once social distancing ends, Seocho-gu Lifelong Learning Center programs will be converted to face-to-face classes.
Seocho-gu Mayor Eunhee Jo said, “We will continue to promote various lifelong education healing programs reflecting the characteristics of Seocho-gu as a cultural and artistic city, and we will spare no effort in supporting lifelong education to provide some comfort to residents exhausted by COVID-19.”
