[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 13th, the 2021 Seoul Rose Festival officially opened with the Rose Light lighting ceremony at Gyeomjaegyo Myeonmok Sports Park.

This year, the Seoul Rose Festival is being held as a distributed festival across 16 neighborhoods to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The opening ceremony was conducted using ZOOM, where the Rose Light was lit on the main stage and simultaneously lit in mini rose gardens in each of the 16 neighborhoods.

Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “I hope the Seoul Rose Festival can bring hope and comfort to residents weary from the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,” and added, “Please enjoy the festival safely while adhering to social distancing guidelines.”

The Seoul Rose Festival will continue until the 31st. At Jungnang Rose Park, only rose viewing is allowed, and various programs such as content e-commerce, visible radio, and the Rose Festival online song contest are prepared.
