[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated the successful landing of China's first Mars unmanned probe, "Tianwen-1," on the 15th, emphasizing that "China has taken an important step in its planetary exploration journey."


According to Xinhua News Agency on the same day, President Xi stated in a congratulatory message sent to the Mars exploration command center and related personnel after Tianwen-1's Mars landing, "China has taken an important step in its planetary exploration journey, achieving a leap from Earth and the Moon to interplanetary exploration."


President Xi praised, "Leaving the first Chinese footprint on Mars marks another monumental advancement in our space program development," adding, "Your courageous challenge has placed China among the world's leading nations in planetary exploration."


He called for scientific exploration of Mars, technological self-reliance, and meticulous advancement of space projects, stating, "We hope to accelerate the building of a space power, explore the mysteries of the universe, and contribute to human peace and development."


Meanwhile, Han Zheng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, observed the Tianwen-1 Mars landing situation at the Beijing Space Flight Control Center.


Vice Premier Liu He also read President Xi's congratulatory message at the site, showing the Chinese leadership's special significance attached to the success of this Mars landing.
