'Individual Local Income Tax Assistance Desk' Established on 2nd Floor of Nowon-gu Office Main Building... Extended Operation Until 8 PM During Reporting Period from 17th to 31st

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Nowon-gu (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced that from the 17th to the 31st, the 'Individual Local Income Tax Help Desk' will be extended to operate until 8 PM.

Individuals with comprehensive income for the year 2020 are required to file and pay comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax during May, according to the final tax return obligation, and this year, non-face-to-face electronic filing is the principle due to COVID-19.

Accordingly, the district operates the 'Individual Local Income Tax Help Desk' within the district office to support taxpayers who have difficulties with electronic filing.

In addition, to alleviate the inconvenience of residents who find it difficult to visit during public institution working hours, the help desk operating hours will be extended by 2 hours. From May 17 to 31, when filing is concentrated, the help desk will also operate at night until 8 PM.

The Individual Local Income Tax Help Desk is set up on the 2nd floor of the main building of Nowon-gu Office. The target for in-person filing are taxpayers who are elderly aged 65 or older and disabled small business owners who received the 'Moduchaeum Report Form.' Taxpayers subject to the standard expense ratio or above, and those with rental income from three or more houses are restricted from in-person filing.

Taxpayers wishing to file in person should bring their certificate for electronic filing, ID, and the tax return form when visiting.

This year, the payment deadline for comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax will be extended ex officio until August 31 only for 'businesses or individuals directly affected by COVID-19.'

Other taxpayers who wish to extend the deadline must submit an extension application to the district office before the deadline, so the nighttime operation of the help desk is expected to greatly contribute to protecting taxpayers' rights.
