[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] RF Tech announced on the 14th that its subsidiary RF Bio's hyaluronic acid (HA) filler 'Youthfill Shape with Lidocaine (Youthfill)' has obtained UKCA certification from the UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
Youthfill is RF Bio's flagship product, and following the European CE certification in April, it has now completed UK certification, establishing a foothold to expand exports across Europe.
In addition to Europe, RF Bio is in the process of obtaining 'local product approvals' in China, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, and Mexico, and plans to proceed with approvals in Australia and the Middle East.
An RF Tech official stated, "Currently, HA filler sales are showing rapid growth, and with overseas certifications and product approvals in various countries underway, export volumes are expected to increase significantly in the future." He added, "In April, we signed a land purchase contract related to a new factory in Wonju Enterprise City, Gangwon Province, and plan to complete the production plant for botulinum toxin and HA fillers by December 2023 at the latest."
He continued, "Through this UK certification, we plan to begin sales in the UK and other European countries within the first half of the year," adding, "We also plan to enter additional advanced filler markets beyond Europe to expand our global market share."
