Hyundai Motor Company Recruiting Participants for Car Camping Platform 'Wheelping'

Ioniq 5 Added to Rental Fleet Following Tucson and Santa Fe

Hyundai Motor Company Recruiting Participants for Car Camping Platform 'Wheelping'

[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 14th that it will recruit participants for the car camping experience platform 'Wheelping,' which will operate starting in June.

Wheelping is a platform first introduced by Hyundai last year, reflecting the growing demand for car camping (overnight stays in cars). Last year, it was operated over seven sessions from October 10 for about a month, with 20 teams per session. Vehicles were provided free of charge, and essential car camping supplies were made easily available for a nominal fee.

This year's Wheelping program will run for about three months from June 4 to August 22, with 12 sessions (Friday to Sunday each week) and 30 teams per session. The eligible vehicle models have expanded to include the Ioniq 5, in addition to the Tucson and Santa Fe used last year.

The service operation areas have also expanded. From one location (Goyang) last year, it has increased to six locations this year (two in Seoul, Cheonan, Jeonju, Busan, and Ulsan) to improve customer accessibility.

Customers wishing to participate in Wheelping can apply through the website by August 12, selecting their preferred session. Winners for each session will pay the rental fee for car camping supplies and then receive the vehicle and supplies according to their scheduled usage date.

Meanwhile, Hyundai will provide all Wheelping users with a welcome kit (for two people) consisting of Ottogi ready meals, easy seasoning, an eco bag, and hand sanitizer. LG Electronics CineBeam and Bluetooth speakers will also be lent free of charge to teams that request them.
