[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] A royal aide who raised allegations of 'power harassment' by Meghan Markle, wife of Britain's Prince Harry, is leaving the royal household.

The British daily The Guardian reported on the 12th (local time) that "Jason Knauf, former Kensington Palace spokesperson, is expected to resign as chairman of the Cambridge Royal Foundation by the end of this year." Knauf is the person who claimed that staff were repeatedly humiliated due to Markle's bullying, and that two secretaries resigned.

In October 2018, when he was the communications secretary for Prince Harry and his wife, he sent an email to Prince William's private secretary expressing concerns about Markle's harassment of royal staff. However, Prince Harry reportedly requested that the matter not be pursued further.

Knauf, who was born in the United States, plans to move abroad after resigning as chairman. The Guardian explained, "He led the media teams for both Prince William and his wife and Prince Harry and his wife at the British royal household, having previously worked at the New Zealand Prime Minister's Office and the Royal Bank of Scotland."
