[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 13th that one resident of Gwangju Metropolitan City tested positive for COVID-19 in a diagnostic test.
The confirmed case was diagnosed positive from a test taken the previous day at a hospital in Hwasun-eup and was classified as Jeonnam case number 1236.
Other than the hospital, no movement within the Hwasun area by Jeonnam case number 1236 has been confirmed.
Immediately upon notification of the positive case, the county completed disinfection and sterilization of the hospital visited by the confirmed patient and conducted diagnostic tests on the medical staff who had contact.
A county official stated, “Cluster infections in daily life continue not only in Gwangju and Jeonnam but nationwide,” and urged, “Please strictly follow quarantine rules such as always wearing a mask wherever and whenever.”
