#In Seo-gu, Incheon, Incheon Chamsarang Hospital established four job evaluation grades and designed the basic salary range according to the grade as a job-based pay system (7 levels), with plans to increase it step-by-step each year. It is a system that provides incentives upon achieving targets.
#Cheongin, an environmental equipment specialist company in Pohang, Gyeongbuk, changed its system to grant job competency pay based on skill proficiency evaluations for each job rather than previous work attitude evaluations. The results of technical skill proficiency assessments and diagnostics were linked to job competency pay, promotion, and training to enhance employee motivation.
On the 13th at 2 p.m., the Korea Labor Foundation held the '2nd Workplace Innovation Consulting Case Sharing Forum' of this year in the large conference room on the 6th floor of the foundation building in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and disclosed excellent cases. The forum is a stage where stakeholders share and verify consulting cases as part of the foundation’s workplace innovation consulting support project.
This forum was held under the theme of 'HR and Labor Innovation,' featuring presentations on wage and evaluation system improvement consulting cases and expert discussions. Cases such as Incheon Chamsarang Hospital and Cheongin were highlighted as representative examples.
Following the case presentations, expert discussions analyzed the cases and discussed ways to apply them to other companies. Professors Kim Dong-bae from Incheon National University’s Department of Business Administration and Jeong Seung-guk from Joongang Seungga University participated in the discussion. Over 100 supported workplaces, consultants, and experts joined the discussion via online broadcast.
Jung Hyung-woo, Secretary General of the foundation, said, "To actively respond to the economic low-growth trend and changes in the labor market environment, it is necessary to improve the personnel management system from a seniority-based culture to one focused on job competency and performance." He added, "The foundation plans to actively support companies to establish a rational personnel management system through workplace innovation consulting."
Meanwhile, the foundation plans to operate the case sharing forum regularly once a month. On the 10th of next month, the 3rd forum will be held under the theme 'Workplace Innovation - Smart Factory Linkage.'
