[Golf Topic] 'Number 3' Ram "I Want to Go to Tokyo Olympics, But"... Well

[Asia Economy Kim Hyun-jun, Golf Specialist Reporter] ○…World No. 3 Jon Rahm (Spain, photo) is hesitating about whether to participate in the Tokyo Olympics this July...

At a press conference held on the 13th (Korean time) at Craig Ranch Golf Club in McKinney, Texas, USA, one day before the AT&T Byron Nelson (total prize money $8.1 million) tournament, he stated, "I want to go to the Olympics, but it is difficult to decide right now." The various restrictions due to COVID-19 are the problem. He expressed dissatisfaction, saying, "It is impossible to bring family along," and "I heard the course is 1 to 2 hours away by car from the Olympic Village, and we are not allowed to visit other sports venues."

The schedule is also tough. The world stars will start with the last major, The Open Championship, in England on July 15, then the Tokyo Olympics, and the following week, they will rush to Memphis, Tennessee, USA, to participate in the World Golf Championships (WGC) FedEx St. Jude Invitational. World No. 1 Dustin Johnson (USA) has already declared he will not participate, saying, "The Olympic schedule overlaps too much with the PGA Tour."
