Expansion of the 'Isipsae Plan Lineup' for People in Their 20s to a Total of 4 Types
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] U+Altteul Mobile announced on the 13th that it will strengthen MZ generation marketing by adding a 10GB data niche segment to the ‘Isipsae Plan’ targeting 20s budget phone subscribers.
The Isipsae Plan is a 20s-exclusive plan reflecting the lifestyle of the MZ generation, first launched by U+Altteul Mobile last month. It consists of services suitable for people in their 20s, such as generous data provision, an ‘overcharge cap system’ that alleviates concerns about extra charges, and a ‘remaining data refund’ that allows users to get refunds for unused data.
As the number of budget phone subscribers in Korea is about to surpass 10 million, U+Altteul Mobile expanded its offerings from two unlimited data plans to a total of four plans, including 10GB and 5GB plans prioritizing cost-effectiveness, broadening the range of choices. In particular, after analyzing the communication usage patterns of the MZ generation, it was determined that a plan with data under 10GB and a low basic fee is necessary, considering that MZ customers mainly use Wi-Fi at home, subway, and libraries.
The newly launched ‘Isipsae 10GB’ offers 10GB of data for 17,900 KRW per month, along with 180 minutes of voice calls and 100 text messages. Additionally, the price of the existing ‘Isipsae 5GB’ (180 minutes voice, 100 texts, 5GB data) was lowered to 11,900 KRW to enhance price competitiveness.
Furthermore, U+Altteul Mobile plans to accelerate targeting the MZ generation with various benefits and convenience services reflecting the characteristics of people in their 20s. First, for those in their 20s who find it difficult to issue credit cards, it is the only company in the budget phone industry to launch an exclusive partnership check card, offering benefits such as up to 7,000 KRW cashback per month.
In addition, online subscription allows identity verification using only the Naver certificate, enabling anyone to easily and conveniently subscribe without a credit card or joint certificate. It also provides various convenience services for easy and fast activation, such as the ‘Today Delivery Service’ where users can apply for a USIM card online and receive it the same day, and the ‘Self Activation Service’ that enables activation within 5 minutes.
Jongmin Cho, head of the MVNO business at U+Altteul Mobile, said, “We expanded the lineup of the Isipsae Plan to broaden choices and allow MZ generation consumers, who carefully consider data, call volume, and price, to enjoy more benefits. We will continue to discover products and convenient services suitable for people in their 20s.”
