[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Kim Ki-hyun, Acting Leader of the People Power Party and Floor Leader, stated on the 12th, "The Blue House and the ruling party have maintained consistency in their double standards," while demanding the withdrawal of ministerial nominee appointments and expressing that the plenary session for the Prime Minister's appointment approval cannot be convened.
In his remarks at the party members' meeting that day, Acting Leader Kim said, "You must have seen the public opinion polls, but the public's unfavorable sentiment toward the three ministerial nominees has clearly emerged," adding, "I believe the president's withdrawal of the nominations is a very natural response to public sentiment."
Regarding Yoon Ho-jung, the Floor Leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, requesting the convening of a plenary session for the Prime Minister's appointment approval and asking members to stand by, Kim pointed out, "Who created the vacancy for the Prime Minister? They themselves did," and added, "Isn't it because of their own presidential ambitions that former Prime Minister Jeong Sye-kyun resigned? President Moon Jae-in approved it."
He further criticized, "Because of their presidential ambitions, the president, former Prime Minister Jeong, and the Democratic Party conspired and are now blaming others," likening it to "causing a traffic accident and scolding the other party."
