[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Professor Kim Jae-hyung of Chonnam National University Dental Hospital recently received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award for his contributions to promoting oral health for people with disabilities in celebration of Health Day.
According to Chonnam National University Hospital on the 12th, the Ministry of Health and Welfare awarded Professor Kim Jae-hyung a ministerial citation in commemoration of the 49th Health Day for his contributions to improving oral health for vulnerable disabled groups in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions, revitalizing the Gwangju-Jeonnam Disabled Oral Care Center, and fostering future professionals.
Having served as the director of Chonnam National University Dental Hospital, Professor Kim has dedicated over 15 years to enhancing the oral health of people with disabilities based on the hospital’s commitment to public service and community spirit.
In 2011, he took the lead in establishing the first regional Disabled Oral Care Center in the Gwangju and Jeonnam areas and, as the inaugural center director, significantly contributed to positioning the Disabled Oral Care Center as a key pillar of public healthcare.
He has also actively participated in academic societies, striving to train experts in dentistry and disability care and to strengthen practical competencies.
Furthermore, he played an important role in improving oral health for people with disabilities by establishing close cooperative relationships between the Central Disabled Oral Care Center and other regional Disabled Oral Care Centers.
Professor Kim’s publications include works on dental treatment for patients with systemic diseases, elderly and disabled patients, and comprehensive clinical oral medicine.
