Gokseong-gun Conducts the 2nd Gokseong-gun Return-to-Farming and Rural Migration Survey

Identifying Challenges and Satisfaction of Returning Farmers and Rural Migrant Households Who Moved in the Past 3 Years

Gokseong-gun Conducts the 2nd Gokseong-gun Return-to-Farming and Rural Migration Survey

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Geun-gi) announced on the 12th that it will conduct the 2nd Gokseong-gun Return-to-Farming and Rural Migration Survey of 2021 from May 14 to June 3.

Gokseong-gun conducts the Return-to-Farming and Rural Migration Survey every three years as basic data for population decline countermeasures and population inflow policy establishment. The first survey was conducted in 2018, and with the time approaching, the second survey will be conducted this year.

The survey targets heads of households and household members aged 19 or older who have moved in during the past three years (2018?2020). Surveyors will visit each return-to-farming and rural migration household to identify a total of 51 items across six areas: relocation, housing, social relationships, administration and policy, individual and household, and return to farming. The survey results will be analyzed and finalized around October.

For an effective survey, Gokseong-gun hired 24 surveyors. On the 12th, training was conducted regarding survey methods and precautions. Through the survey, Gokseong-gun aims to understand the characteristics and needs of return-to-farming and rural migration households to support successful settlement and establish policies to attract urban residents.

A county official stated, “All responses will be used only for statistical purposes and strictly protected under the Statistics Act. We ask respondents to actively participate when surveyors visit.”
