[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Wemade has achieved its highest quarterly sales since its founding.
Wemade announced on the 12th that it recorded sales of 76 billion KRW and operating profit of 27.5 billion KRW in the first quarter. This represents a 147% increase in sales and a 755% increase in operating profit compared to the previous year.
The first quarter performance was driven by the mobile game 'Mir4,' which generated total sales of 45.6 billion KRW. Mir4 is preparing for global service including Taiwan and Japan, and the global version plans to apply NFT (Non-Fungible Token) technology based on the blockchain platform 'Wemix.'
Additionally, the licensing business also led to strong results. Last month, Wemade signed a partnership agreement with China's Longhua Group to operate the 'Legend of Mir 2' business throughout China.
Jang Hyun-guk, CEO of Wemade, said, "This first quarter is very meaningful as it marks the best performance since Wemade's founding," adding, "The future Wemade is pursuing is to evolve into a metaverse (game) and virtual asset company in line with changes in the world, turning the flow of change into an opportunity."
