"Lotte Hotel World, Strengthened by Family-Focused Design, Renovates Upper Floors... Opening on the 1st of Next Month" Lotte Hotel World, Family Suite Room.

New Family-Oriented Rooms and Untact Technology-Based Services
Preparing for Post-COVID + Differentiation from Nearby Signiel Seoul

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte Hotel World in Songpa-gu, Seoul, which opened ahead of the 1988 Seoul Olympics, has been renovated after more than 30 years. Emphasizing 'family-specialized rooms' equipped with sofa beds and bunk beds, the hotel has enhanced convenience for families of 3 to 4 members, aiming for differentiation.

Lotte Hotel World announced on the 12th that it will reopen renovated rooms and the club lounge on floors 19 to 31 starting next month on the 1st. Since last year, Lotte Hotel World has been renovating the interior of the hotel excluding the lobby and restaurants. This partial reopening marks the completion of the first phase of the full renovation scheduled through the first half of next year. The hotel interior was designed by the world-renowned hotel interior design group HBA, adopting a 'Simple & Modern' concept.

The new rooms to be unveiled next month total 255, consisting of 19 room types. The tiers are Deluxe, Premier, and Suite. A key feature is the specialized design for family customers. Rooms equipped with sofa beds and bunk beds (two-story beds) allow families of up to four members to stay comfortably without the need for additional beds. While the nearby Signiel Seoul, Lotte Hotel’s top-tier brand, boasts ultra-high-floor views and premium facilities and services, Lotte Hotel World plans to differentiate itself as a family-friendly hotel blending modern trends with local heritage. The hotel stated, "The newly configured rooms will stimulate children's curiosity and offer a new lodging experience." Suite rooms are equipped with Mollycule’s premium air purifiers featuring sterilization and purification functions, and air showers that quickly dry moisture after showering. Ceragem massage chairs and heating devices are also installed.

The club lounge has been transformed to suit the lifestyle changes following the COVID-19 pandemic. An L-Library is provided, offering a convenient reading environment via tablet PCs. In partnership with Kyobo Bookstore, guests can access over 60,000 e-books as well as various newspapers and magazines. The club lounge meeting rooms are equipped with smart TVs capable of high-definition presentations and electronic whiteboards that also serve as signage TVs. The live station operated during happy hour cooks fresh ingredients on the spot and changes the main menu daily.

Latest technology has also been integrated into services. On the first-floor lobby, delivery robots assist by providing welcome amenities. KT’s AI speaker 'Giga Genie' has been installed in guest rooms, allowing guests to control heating, cooling, lighting, and online streaming services, as well as request amenities or concierge services. Smart concierge services providing information on Seoul’s attractions and restaurants, along with unmanned currency exchange kiosks, are also available contactlessly.

To celebrate the renovation, Lotte Hotel World will hold a unique lucky draw event starting June 1 for guests checking in. Guests who randomly receive a card key can touch it to a door lock installed in the hotel lobby that mimics an actual room door; when the door opens, a scratch-off voucher is given. Prizes include suite room upgrades and Samsonite travel bags.

Choi Hee-man, General Manager of Lotte Hotel World, said, "As the hotel representing Jamsil for 33 years, Lotte Hotel World, which has grown together with the local community, is reborn with a new look. It will become a new landmark hotel in the city that offers not only business and relaxation but also enjoyment linked to the adjacent large-scale tourism and shopping complex."
