[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] KOTRA announced on the 12th that it will hold the '2021 First Half Overseas Employment Video Interview Week' online until the 18th, in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea.
During this Overseas Employment Video Interview Week, 75 companies from 9 countries will conduct 640 interviews to hire 200 Korean youths. By country, there are 50 companies from Japan, 9 from China, 9 from the United States, 2 from Australia, and one each from Germany, New Zealand, Singapore, Vietnam, and Mexico. By industry, the breakdown is Information and Communications (24%), Manufacturing (23%), Wholesale and Retail (21%), Services (9%), Transportation (5%), and Professional Services (4%).
To enhance employment outcomes, an AI competency test was also prepared as a preliminary event. Earlier, from the 10th for two days, KOTRA conducted 'Overseas Employment Coaching,' providing mock video interviews with professional instructors and feedback for job seekers. Starting today, 'Overseas Employment Mentoring Counseling' is also being offered, where overseas employment seniors share information on working environments, living methods, and interview tips.
During the event period, a 'World Job Talk Concert' will be held online, connecting international organization staff such as the World Bank and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), as well as local overseas employment experts, to share information, environments, and strategies related to overseas employment.
Kim Tae-ho, Head of KOTRA's Small and Medium Enterprises Division, said, "We will continue to expand various supports such as online job fairs to support Korean talents active worldwide."
