[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (County Governor Kim San) announced on the 11th that it signed a business agreement with Korea Ginseng Corporation (hereinafter KGC Ginseng Corporation) to promote the consumption of Muan onions and to develop and activate the sales of new products.
The signing ceremony was held with the attendance of County Governor Kim San and Min Kyung-sung, Head of the Dry Food Business Division of KGC Ginseng Corporation, proceeding with a purchase contract for 42 tons of onions, commemorative photo session, and gift exchange.
KGC Ginseng Corporation is a global comprehensive health company that owns Korea's representative red ginseng brand CheongKwanJang and the natural ingredient health food brand Good Base.
According to the business agreement, the county will strive to support local farms and share information to produce high-quality onions, while KGC Ginseng Corporation will actively cooperate to secure stable sales channels for local farms through efforts to maintain a long-term contractual relationship, including the development and sales of new products using Muan onions.
County Governor Kim San said, “Through the business partnership with KGC Ginseng Corporation, the sales channels for Muan County agricultural products will be greatly expanded, which is expected to increase the income of farms struggling due to COVID-19 and revitalize the local economy.”
