[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 11th that it has been selected in the youth-specialized support project category of the '2021 Regional and Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project' organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
This regional and industry customized job creation support project was prepared as part of the 'Youth Employment Activation Measures' announced by the Ministry of Employment and Labor on March 3rd to respond to the diversifying employment environment due to COVID-19.
The project is promoted by providing customized vocational training and linking employment for unemployed high school graduates under the age of 39 in the region who are having difficulty finding jobs, using national funds and others.
The project execution is entrusted to the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Chonnam National University and the Regional Employment Policy Research Institute, which have secured a network of more than 200 companies related to the medical industry in the region.
These institutions will cultivate customized talents by providing digital marketing education that enables unemployed high school graduates participating in the project from next month until December to promote products of medical and healthcare companies.
In addition, they plan to create jobs by signing agreements with excellent companies.
Kim Young-seon, the city's youth policy officer, said, "Through this public contest project, high school graduates are expected to acquire the capabilities to prepare for the employment environment in the post-COVID-19 era," and added, "We will do our best to reflect field voices, resolve employment blind spots, and ensure that youth job projects proceed without any setbacks."
