[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] The creation of the 10 billion KRW-scale 'Chuncheon Food Complex Cultural Space,' which had been delayed due to cultural heritage excavation investigations, is expected to gain momentum.

Chuncheon City announced on the 10th, "With the recent results of the detailed cultural heritage investigation on the site for the Food Complex Cultural Space, the project can now proceed normally."

According to the city, at the end of December last year, 55 relics from the Bronze Age and 177 artifacts from the Iron Age were excavated from the 9,815㎡ area at 154-7 Geunhwa-dong, where the Chuncheon Food Complex Cultural Space will be established. The relics and artifacts will be transferred to the state.

Meanwhile, the Chuncheon Food Complex Cultural Space project involves a total investment of 10 billion KRW, including 4 billion KRW in national funds.

The complex cultural space will include a Food Research Support Center, a Local Food Market, a cultural space, and a Traditional Liquor Research Institute. The Food Research Support Center will consist of youth startup restaurants in the food service industry, the Local Food Market, and shared kitchens.

The Local Food Market will allow young entrepreneurs to collaborate with local farms to sell regional agricultural products to citizens and tourists, while the cultural space will host small-scale regular performances and include outdoor cultural spaces and an outdoor caf?.

The Traditional Liquor Research Institute will be designed with a traditional liquor exhibition hall, an experience center, a sales area, a gallery, and a banquet hall.

The Chuncheon Food Complex Cultural Space is expected to become a core facility that focuses on fostering food-related businesses and encourages the consumption of local agricultural products within the region.
