[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 10th that it held the ‘Gwangsan-gu Smart City Project Council Appointment Ceremony’ for the creation of a Gwangsan-type smart city.
The council is composed of a total of 15 members: the deputy district mayor as the chairman, 5 ex officio members, and 10 appointed members. The term of office is two years from the date of appointment.
The ex officio members include Chairman Deputy District Mayor Lee Don-guk, as well as the Director of the Economic and Cultural Bureau, the Head of Urban Planning Division, the Head of Urban Regeneration Division, and the Head of Data Information Division.
On this day, experts from various fields such as information and communication, urban planning, computer engineering, software engineering, architecture and urban design, as well as district council members, received their appointment letters.
According to Article 11 of the ‘Gwangsan-gu Smart City Creation and Operation Ordinance’ enacted in July last year, the council will deliberate and advise on matters related to the smart city implementation plan, necessary matters for the smooth promotion of smart city construction projects, and other matters deemed necessary for the creation of the smart city.
At the first meeting held simultaneously on this day, a vice chairman was elected, updates on the progress of the smart city project and the operation plan of the smart city project council were shared, and time was spent discussing the development direction of the Gwangsan-gu smart city.
Kim Sam-ho, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, said, “I hope the council will provide diverse opinions to create a Gwangsan-type smart city that can improve the quality of life for residents.”
