[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 10th that it will promote the '2021 Regional Culture and Arts Planning Contest Project' to support the activities of cultural artists (including groups), revitalize lifestyle culture clubs, and encourage citizens' cultural and artistic activities by discovering various customized cultural contents utilizing local cultural resources.

This contest will be conducted for 11 projects across 5 fields, with a total project budget of 590 million KRW.

The application period is from the 10th to the 20th, and after the selection process in May, the projects will be carried out from June to December.

The city explained that based on the autonomy and diversity of cultural artists (including groups) and lifestyle culture club members active in the region, it has prepared contest projects in various genres to discover region-centered cultural contents where anyone can create and enjoy culture in daily life and to revitalize lifestyle culture clubs.

The contest fields are ▲ Regional Cultural Content Discovery ▲ Online Content Discovery ▲ Lifestyle Culture Revitalization ▲ Cultural Playground ▲ Intangible Cultural Heritage Revitalization, totaling five fields.

In addition, to activate the activities of holders of national and provincial intangible cultural heritage (including groups) active in the region, educational programs, convergence, complex, and joint programs will be supported.

Groups selected in this contest project will receive various project support related to project promotion, such as understanding the cultural city creation project and subsidy project execution standards, through the Jinju Cultural City Support Center.

Meanwhile, to activate mediation projects between cultural artists and cultural planners, the city is currently collaborating with the Jinju Cultural City Support Center to open a citizen culture school course and is promoting a cultural planner training project consisting of three courses. The Cultural City Support Center plans to discover and train cultural planners throughout the year and support cultural mediation projects.
