[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan) announced on the 10th that it will hold a public contest for resident proposals to revitalize urban regeneration.
This contest allows residents to directly plan and execute projects on themes such as improving the living environment and revitalizing the economy, welfare, housing, culture, and community within the Haenam-eup urban regeneration activation area.
Eligibility to apply is for resident groups or organizations (non-profit) of five or more people who have a living base (residence, workplace, school, etc.) in Haenam-gun, and the activity must be a new initiative for the contest project, not the organization's original purpose project.
Up to 10 million KRW will be supported per team, and a total of eight teams will be selected through screening.
The application period is from the 18th to the 26th of this month, and organizations wishing to apply should prepare an application form and project plan and submit them in person to the Haenam-gun Urban Regeneration Support Center.
The contest project briefing session can be requested through the Safety City Division Urban Regeneration Team and will be conducted individually at the Urban Regeneration Support Center. If selected, individual workshops to concretize the project will also be supported.
A county official stated, “We hope that through the resident proposal contest project, residents will actively participate in solving local problems and that continuous growth will be achieved by strengthening the community’s capacity as the main agents of the village.”
