Hana Financial Investment plans to begin market making operations from the 17th of this month and will establish a dedicated department for emissions trading operations.
Dong-hyuk Lee, Head of Global Market Operations at Hana Financial Investment, said, “We were finally selected as a market maker in recognition of our understanding of the position of K-ETS (Korea Emissions Trading System) in the global carbon market and our operational expertise in advanced markets such as Europe. We will do our best to activate the domestic emissions market functions and further accelerate the realization of carbon neutrality through emission reductions in line with the purpose of this selection.”
Meanwhile, Hana Financial Group declared 2021 as the inaugural year of ‘ESG Management’ and announced the group’s ESG mid- to long-term goal ‘2030&60,’ which includes raising and supplying a total of 60 trillion KRW in ESG finance by 2030.
