"Closer and More Vivid"... Everland 'Safari World Wild Tram' Opens on the 14th

[Asia Economy Reporter Su-yeon Woo] Everland announced on the 10th that it will newly introduce the 'Safari World Wild Tram' (hereinafter Safari Tram), which allows closer and more vivid observation of wild animals, starting from the 14th.

The Safari Tram is a new Safari World tour vehicle that Everland has been preparing for over the past two years ahead of its 45th anniversary this year. Unlike the existing safari buses, three vehicles are connected in a single line, functioning as a kind of trackless train that freely moves around Safari World.

Since Safari World opened as a natural farm in 1976, visitors have been observing wild animals by riding buses, a method that has continued to this day. Now, the tour vehicle has changed from a bus to a tram, providing visitors with a new safari viewing experience.

Wider, Closer... Eye-to-Eye with Wild Animals for a Vivid Close-Up Experience

Through the new Safari Tram, visitors can enjoy not only simple 'viewing' but also the 'joy of riding.' The Safari Tram, consisting of three vehicles connected in a row, is a train-type vehicle where a sports utility vehicle (SUV) towing vehicle equipped with a powerful 312-horsepower turbo engine pulls two tram cars carrying visitors at the front, with a total length of 22 meters.

In particular, the tram cars carrying visitors are designed with transparent panoramic windows from floor to ceiling on all sides?front, back, left, and right?providing a refreshing view. When seated, the average eye level of an adult is about 1.6 meters above the ground, significantly lower than the existing buses, allowing visitors to make eye contact with approaching wild animals and observe them more vividly and closely.

Each tram has 28 seats, allowing up to 56 people to ride simultaneously per operation. Six trams wrapped in various designs with themes such as tiger, military, and game operate in rotation. The transparent viewing windows are made of approximately 20mm thick five-layer special bulletproof glass using polycarbonate material, which has 150 times the impact absorption of regular tempered glass, ensuring safe viewing.

Observe Over 50 Wild Animals of 7 Species Including Tigers, Lions, and Brown Bears

During the approximately 20-minute Safari World tour on the new Safari Tram, visitors can closely and vividly observe over 50 animals of 7 species inhabiting the approximately 34,000㎡ Safari World.

Safari World is divided into three main safari zones: Tiger Safari, Lion Safari, and Bear Safari. Visitors can encounter various wild animals ranging from the critically endangered Korean tiger to the king of the jungle, the lion, and brown bears that can grow up to 3 meters tall.

Additionally, rare animals such as white lions, Asiatic black bears, hyenas, giraffes, and zebras can also be seen through the open transparent windows of the Safari Tram.

During the tour, the tram driver provides real-time ecological explanations and hidden stories about each animal, enhancing the vivid safari exploration experience.

The First Safari in Korea and Asia... Cumulative Visitors Reach 84 Million

Safari World is the first safari in Korea and Asia, operated by Everland since it opened as 'Yongin Natural Farm' in 1976. Although the appearance of the safari bus has evolved over time, it has always started with visitors riding buses to observe wild animals playing freely in nature.

For people accustomed to simply viewing animals, entering the safari by bus to observe wild animals up close was a sensational experience at the time, spreading by word of mouth and attracting numerous visitors.

Since its opening year, Safari World has been used by approximately 84 million people, making it Everland's most popular facility with the highest number of visitors boarding a single attraction.

In 2013, Everland additionally opened 'Lost Valley,' an ecological safari covering about 41,000㎡ where herbivores live, next to Safari World, which houses wild animals, and currently operates two safari zones.
