[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups is recruiting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to participate in the 'Leading Technology Protection SME Development Program' from the 10th of this month until the 9th of next month.
The Leading Technology Protection SME Development Program targets companies possessing core technologies such as materials, parts, and equipment. Through a comprehensive diagnosis by technology protection experts, the program fosters leading SMEs in technology protection by providing step-by-step, customized support centered on the companies. This year, 10 SMEs will be selected and nurtured on a pilot basis.
Selected companies can receive systematic support including ▲consultation with technology protection experts (full consultation fee support for up to 10 days) ▲technology data escrow (up to 900,000 KRW fee support) ▲technology protection services such as detection of malicious code and ransomware (up to 1,830,000 KRW) ▲security system establishment (up to 50%, 40 million KRW) and more.
After completing the support program, if the technology protection capability level is 75 points or higher, companies will be issued a 'Leading Technology Protection SME' certificate and granted additional points for participation in technology development support projects.
Won Young-jun, Director of Technology Innovation Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, stated, "We plan to continuously expand the designation of 'Leading Technology Protection SMEs' with high technology protection capability levels through company-centered customized technology protection support. Strengthening the capability to protect innovative technologies is a very important factor for continuous technological innovation of companies and enhancing national competitiveness."
SMEs wishing to participate in the Leading Technology Protection SME Development Program can apply via email from the 10th until June 9th.
