Hyundai Motor Company Decides to Sponsor Amateur Racing Team 'Team HMC' for 5 Consecutive Years

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 9th that it held a sponsorship agreement ceremony for 'Hyundai Motor Company - Team Hyundai Motor Club (HMC)' at the Autoway Tower in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The ceremony was attended by Yoo Won-ha, Vice President and Head of Hyundai Motor's Domestic Business Division, and Kim Joo-hyun, Team HMC leader, among others.

Marking its 5th anniversary, Team HMC is an amateur racing team composed of members of the 'Hyundai Auto Club,' a fan club voluntarily formed by customers who like the Hyundai brand. The team consists of a total of seven drivers, including broadcaster Yang Sang-guk and solo creator Ahn Oh-jun.

They plan to participate in the '2021 Hyundai N Festival (May 8 - November 14),' the largest one-make motorsports competition in Korea, to showcase their driving skills.

Hyundai Motor supports Team HMC with professional driving suits, an exclusive mechanic team for vehicle maintenance, and a certain amount of expenses related to race participation. A Hyundai Motor official stated, "We will contribute to revitalizing a new car culture by supporting motorsports activities, which have been stagnant due to COVID-19, in various ways."
