[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] On Saturday the 8th, yellow dust is being observed nationwide.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the entire country will be clear on the 8th, with daytime high temperatures reaching 18 to 26 degrees Celsius. Due to the influence of yellow dust, fine dust concentrations across all regions are at a 'very bad' level. Yellow dust originating from the Gobi Desert on the 5th is affecting South Korea, and as of 8:10 AM on this day, yellow dust is being observed nationwide.

Currently, fine dust (PM10) concentrations are 676㎍/㎥ in Suwon, 475㎍/㎥ in Seoul, 376㎍/㎥ in Ganghwa, 511㎍/㎥ in Bukchuncheon, 455㎍/㎥ in Daegwallyeong, 404㎍/㎥ in Yeongwol, 639㎍/㎥ in Seo Cheongju, 522㎍/㎥ in Cheonan, 411㎍/㎥ in Chupungnyeong, 601㎍/㎥ in Gunsan, 508㎍/㎥ in Gwangju, 403㎍/㎥ in Jeonju, 655㎍/㎥ in Mungyeong, 500㎍/㎥ in Andong, 458㎍/㎥ in Uljin, 551㎍/㎥ in Jeju Gosan, and 483㎍/㎥ in Anmyeondo.

The yellow dust is expected to clear from the afternoon of the 9th. Until the morning of the 9th, fine dust levels will temporarily be at a 'bad' level, but in the afternoon, fine dust concentrations are expected to drop to 'normal' across all regions.

On the 9th, in eastern Gyeonggi, Gangwon, inland Gyeongbuk, and eastern Jeonbuk, morning low temperatures will fall below 5 degrees Celsius in some areas. Until tomorrow, daytime temperatures will be above 20 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country, with a daily temperature range exceeding 15 degrees. The morning low temperature on the 9th will be 6 to 13 degrees, and the daytime high will be 18 to 24 degrees.

From the afternoon of the 8th to the 9th, winds in the Yeongdong region of Gangwon will blow strongly at 10 to 16 meters per second, with gusts up to 20 meters per second. In other areas, gusts exceeding 15 meters per second may cause strong winds, so outdoor facilities such as screening clinics, vinyl greenhouses, construction sites, and falling objects should be inspected to prevent safety accidents.

In the Gyeongsang region including Gangwon Yeongdong and Gyeongbuk, where dry weather warnings have been issued, the atmosphere is very dry and winds are strong, increasing the risk of wildfires, so special caution is required.

Until the afternoon of the 8th, winds in the central West Sea offshore area will be strong at 8 to 16 meters per second, and from night through the 9th, winds will be strong in the central East Sea offshore area and northern offshore area of the southern East Sea, with waves rising to 1.0 to 3.5 meters.
