Gwangju Social Service Center Announces 'ESG - Eco-Friendly Management' Declaration

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City Social Service Institute (Director Jo Ho-kwon) announced on the 7th that it held an ‘ESG-Eco-friendly Management Declaration Ceremony’ to participate in global efforts for environmental protection.

The eco-friendly management declaration ceremony is a pledge to grow together with society and marks the beginning of the Social Service Institute’s ESG management.

ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) management embodies the philosophy that sustainable development can be achieved by considering transparent management such as eco-friendliness, social responsibility management, and governance improvement.

This declaration ceremony was organized to recognize the importance of climate and ecological environments and to foster an eco-friendly culture within the institution so that employees can naturally participate in environmental protection.

The declaration includes ▲setting practical actions and goals for ecological environment to promote eco-friendly management ▲compliance with domestic and international environmental laws and regulations ▲all employees taking on the mission of environmental guardians, with systematic education and training, including contents that employees can actually practice.

At the declaration ceremony, while proclaiming eco-friendly management, the campaign ‘The Pledge of the Social Service Institute Protecting the Earth’ was launched to strengthen the commitment to making environmental protection a daily habit.

Jo Ho-kwon, Director of Gwangju Metropolitan City Social Service Institute, said, “The era of eco-friendliness, which was once a choice, has now arrived as an essential environment that must be protected,” adding, “Rather than pursuing momentary convenience and sweetness, let us overcome minor inconveniences with one heart for the sake of the Earth’s environment, and bring about change and innovation.”

Meanwhile, Gwangju Metropolitan City Social Service Institute operates ‘Celebration Day’ on the 1st and 15th of every month with heartfelt birthday gifts and congratulatory videos to foster a happy working environment and sense of belonging, ‘Love Day’ every Wednesday for family-friendly management, and ‘Blue Jeans Day’ on the first and third Fridays of every month for horizontal communication culture, running these 3 days to strive for meaningful differences.
