Administrative Council Meeting Held for Signing Rural Agreement

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, which is challenging the ‘Nongchon Agreement’ public contest project promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, is concentrating all administrative power to conclude the agreement.

The county announced on the 7th that it held regional detailed project briefings and administrative councils for the conclusion of the Nongchon Agreement over two days on the 6th and 7th.

The county held steering committees and resident committees in key project areas together with the Korea Rural Community Corporation Jinju Sancheong branch to discuss the progress so far and future directions.

First, on the 6th, the Southern Living Area Steering Committee was held in Sinan-myeon, followed by the Danseong-myeon Resident Committee and Sicheon-myeon Resident Committee on the same day.

On the 7th, the Nongchon Agreement Committee was held in the county office’s large conference room, and a resident briefing session related to the Rural Regeneration New Deal project was also held consecutively in Sindeung-myeon.

Prior to this, on the 6th, the county also held an administrative council in the county office’s large conference room for efficient administrative support and collected expert advice.

Through the administrative councils, resident steering committees, and resident committees held over the two days on the 6th and 7th, the county reviewed the progress made so far.

In particular, through in-depth discussions on the Rural Regeneration New Deal project, the county confirmed its determination to successfully lead the conclusion of the Nongchon Agreement.

Meanwhile, the Nongchon Agreement is a project first introduced by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs last year. It is an agreement to jointly implement the rural spatial strategic plan and rural living area revitalization plan established by local governments, with a project period of five years. It aims to improve rural residential conditions and is directly concluded by the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the heads of local governments.

A county official said, “We will establish comprehensive policies and effective spatial strategies,” adding, “In particular, we will organize the advice and opinions from each committee well and do our best to ensure the successful conclusion of the Nongchon Agreement.”
