Jeonnam Province Launches Full-Scale Service of 'COVID-19 Emergency Care Support Team'

According to Jeonnam Province and the Jeonnam Welfare Foundation on the 7th, resident A (79, female) of Hwasun-gun was recently hospitalized for treatment due to abnormal symptoms after receiving the COVID-19 vaccination.

A hesitated because she had to endure alone for her mother (100, female) if she was hospitalized, but upon hearing this news, she applied for the COVID-19 emergency care service in Doam-myeon, Hwasun-gun, and was able to receive help.

The COVID-19 Emergency Care Support Team, operated by the Jeonnam Welfare Foundation under the commission of Jeonnam Province, is a public social service that dispatches personnel to care for the elderly, disabled, and children who need care in emergency situations caused by infectious disease responses.

The Jeonnam Welfare Foundation recruited a pool of 25 personnel for the COVID-19 Emergency Care Support Team and, after preliminary job training, urgently deployed 3 personnel who are immediately dispatchable to start 24-hour emergency care service from the 5th.

Before dispatch, emergency care personnel completed a COVID-19 pre-test, wore COVID-19 protective suits to prevent possible infection, and took necessary safety measures such as subscribing to accident insurance to perform their duties safely.

Shin Hyun-sook, CEO of the Jeonnam Welfare Foundation, said, “There are quite a few cases where care is needed at home due to COVID-19,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure there is no care gap in preparation for the recent signs of infectious disease resurgence.”
