New Daily Death Toll Approaches 4,000 Consecutively

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suhwan] India's daily new COVID-19 cases slightly increased from the previous day, setting a new world record for two consecutive days.
According to the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on the 7th, the number of daily new COVID-19 cases as of the morning was counted at 414,188. This figure is the total number of newly confirmed cases within the previous 24 hours. It increased by about 2,000 cases compared to the previous day's daily new cases, which had already set the world record.
India's daily new cases surpassed 400,000 for the first time in the world on the 1st, then the increase slowed somewhat before rising again.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases stands at 21,491,598, ranking second in the world after the United States (33,369,192).
The daily new death toll is also approaching 4,000 every day. The number of deaths confirmed on this day was 3,915. The cumulative death toll is 234,083.
As the COVID-19 situation worsens, the vaccination pace remains slow, raising concerns among health authorities. As of this day, about 165 million vaccine doses have been administered in India. The number of citizens who have completed two doses of vaccination is about 32.88 million, which is only 2.4% of the 1.38 billion population.
