The Jongno Police Station, TS Korea Transportation Safety Authority Seoul Headquarters, and Seoul Senior Welfare Center have agreed to join forces to prevent traffic accidents involving the elderly by improving traffic environments and strengthening education, aiming to reduce the number of elderly traffic accident fatalities by 50% or less by 2023.
The Jongno Police Station plans to promote facility improvements at traffic safety vulnerable points and develop educational programs for the elderly to conduct non-face-to-face education.
The TS Korea Transportation Safety Authority Seoul Headquarters will support the production of traffic safety promotional materials. The Seoul Senior Welfare Center will provide the selection of education targets and venues. Choi Chan-ho, head of the Traffic Division at Jongno Police Station, said, "Based on this business agreement, under the policy vision that traffic safety is the best public security welfare, we will do our utmost to create an environment where elderly people can travel safely and prevent traffic accidents involving seniors."
