Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Council to Hold 264th Extraordinary Session from 10th to 14th


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] The Gwangsan District Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 7th that it will open the 264th extraordinary session from the 10th to the 14th and begin its activities.


During this extraordinary session, 18 agenda items will be handled, including 14 ordinances and 4 general matters.


Among the submitted agenda items, there are a total of 11 council member-initiated ordinances for enactment and revision (8 enactments and 3 revisions).


The main schedule includes the 1st plenary session on the 10th, followed by the review of ordinances and general matters by standing committees on the 11th and 12th.


On the 14th, the 2nd plenary session will be held to process the submitted agenda items and conclude the legislative schedule.


Lee Young-hoon, Chairperson of the Gwangsan District Council, said, “This year marks the meaningful 30th anniversary of the opening of local councils. With the full revision of the Local Autonomy Act, we will carry out council activities with a sense of responsibility commensurate with the authority granted to the council, and do our best to open an era of local autonomy strengthened by residents' sovereignty.”
