MyChef Sells 8 Types of Meal Kits at 28 Lotte Mart Stores

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] MyChef announced on the 7th that it has started selling 8 popular meal kit products, including Gambas, steak, pasta, and tteokbokki, at 28 Lotte Mart stores nationwide, including Lotte Mart Seocho, Jamsil, and Incheon Terminal branches.

Through this entry into Lotte Mart, MyChef plans to significantly expand accessibility so that consumers can easily purchase meal kits not only online but also offline. Especially, as the number of households seeking meal kits has surged due to COVID-19 over the past year, the company is accelerating the expansion of offline sales channels aggressively to meet customer demand.

Currently, MyChef is present in about 45 locations, including offline stores in major department stores such as Lotte Department Store, Shinsegae Department Store, and Hyundai Department Store, as well as online platforms like Coupang and Market Kurly. This entry into Lotte Mart marks a turning point in expanding sales locations nationwide beyond the metropolitan area centered on department stores, and it is expected that meal kit sales will spread to a more diverse customer base.

MyChef CEO Lim Jong-eok said, “Now customers can access MyChef meal kits more easily and conveniently at Lotte Mart,” adding, “We will continue to actively increase sales channels so that consumers can purchase fresh and high-quality meal kits whenever they want, striving to become a leading company in popularizing meal kits.”
